The historical mask that provided the inspiration for my interpretation is shown above.
Ivory coast of Africa also referred to as, Sapi-Grebo. They are recognizable by their elongated nose and tubular eyes. The tribes made their living by rice farming and were led by chiefs whose power was counterbalanced by the powerful male PORO society and female BONDO association. 14x28x3 This is my newest signature pieces done in black and fabulous new colors and dichroic accents.
