Hokhokw

Origin: Pacific Northwest. This is one version of the Hamatsa bird-monster masks worn with cedar bark fringes. It was known as the long-beaked bird monster. In mythical times the Hokhokw were beings of the sky and lived in houses in their proper domain. Size 26x27x4 boxed. Comes in red, green, blue, lavender, or rose with complimentary colored raffia, all dyed to match in my studio. Mounted for the wall as shown. May be boxed for $200 additional. This mask is a wonderful mix of hard (glass) and the soft (raffia) and I love the mix of the two. You will too. This mask is in a league of it's own.
