The Hamsa's positive energy draws happiness, riches and health. The Hamsa Hand itself has been used for centuries as a symbol of protection against evil and is known in Jewish lore as the "Hand of Miriam" of ancient Middle Eastern origin. The Hamsa represents G-d's protective hand and the eye shields the owner from the curse of the evil eye. There is nothing exclusively Jewish about the Hamesh Hand. Arab cultures refer to it as the Hand of Fatima. Similar designs are common in many cultures. I haven't been able to find an adequate explanation why this symbol has become a popular Jewish symbol. But, I love it! It is customary to place your first Hamsa near the front door and the next ones by any openings in the house (doors and windows) to make sure evil energies do not sneak in. They present G-d's protective hand.
These Judaica pieces were a lot of work so when they are gone, they are probably gone!  They have a wonderful glass background with a glass hand fused to the background. Over the hand there is an eye with one of my flat glass marbles. Throughout these pieces are individual torched -worked pieces  of glass attached to and melted in the surface. Each piece is one-of-a-kind and was done with my TLC.
I hope you will enjoy as much as I have had creating the Shaloms.
